Dr Abdul Awal has a distiguished carrier in teaching , research, professional activities , social and community development. He obtaiined Doctor of Veterinary Medicine( DVM), MSc and PhD in pharmacology. Dr Awal was awarded the University Prize for securing First Class First Position in the DVM final examination. He was a Professor of Pharmaclogy at Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, Bangladesh for almost 35 years and served as Chairman of the of the Department of Pharmacology for eight years. He was also Proctor of the University for almost three years. Later Dr Awal served as Vice-Chancellor of Sylhet Agricultural University , Sylhet, Bangladesh ,and then as Visiting Professor in the University of Toronto until his retirement in 2016.
